Clarendon Group Internship 2020
Overview: Clarendon Group works at the intersection of strategy, communications, content, and social impact. We draw on the talents of colleagues and affiliates around the world for projects in media relations, crisis communications, digital and social media, communications strategy, social impact strategy, and projects in film, audio media and speechwriting. We have advised public and private sector leaders, multi-national corporations and non-profits, and the world's most respected philanthropies, colleges and universities.
Position Summary:
Clarendon Group is seeking an intern starting immediately for 15-20 hours a week to support multiple projects within the social impact practice.
1) The InfluencHER Project: Launched by Clarendon Group in June 2020, The InfluencHER Project is a new editorial program and global community designed to harness the power of women’s networks to support and amplify female voices, reinforce their expertise, and extend and expand the reach of their ideas.
Internship key responsibilities:
- Source content
- Scope targets for the community Research on potential partners or funders
- Support on monitoring and evaluation
- Drafting materials, content, presentations, etc.
2) Philanthropic Sector Research: 2020 has already seen major shifts in philanthropic giving and funding in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement and it is critical to understand and track activity by funders and trends in the field.
Internship key responsibilities:
- Desk-based research
- Input into database of funders and foundations
- Drafting materials, content, presentations, etc.
3) Targeted client support: Work with Clarendon team to support client projects as needed.
Internship responsibilities:
· Funder mapping and research
· Media monitoring
· Background research
4) Other projects as needed
Qualifications:
· Undergraduate or graduate student (may be of particular interest to those studying international affairs, journalism, political science, global development, or related field, but students of all studies are encouraged to apply)
· Demonstrated experience in research
· Strong writing, editing, and Internet research skills
· Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
Compensation:
· This is a paid internship compensated at a rate of $12/hour.
· Clarendon Group is based in Providence, Rhode Island and New York, New York. Interns are expected to work remotely with regular video check-ins with the team.
